This is a quiet, gated campground. Showers, laundry, and kitchens are available. The camper we rented was awesome!
Ok
We stayed here for three nights late june on our way home.||Caravan with electric.||Like many camp sites majority of it is permanent german caravan tourers on pitches. The camping field is actually at the top of the hill.||This is great in …
Mega
A beautifully located campsite with a great, huge panoramic meadow, here you can stand freely without pitches. The welcome is very friendly and there are great leisure activities nearby. The rental car service for excursions is great. Sanitary facilities are simple but clean.
Very nice campsite with a huge panoramic meadow. The sanitary facilities are not far from anywhere. The staff is well trained and can provide information about every little thing. Dogs are allowed.
The restaurant is small but nice.
We paid for 1 night with 2 adults. and 2 dogs paid 35 euros on the panoramic meadow, which we found very cheap.
Only recommended
Can't say much about the place yet, I just bought a permanent campsite in the winter of '23.
The place is on a mountain.
So in winter a lot of things here (some caravans, railings, playground equipment, stairs and paths, etc.) are quite old and unkempt. Instead of using the winter months to change this, nothing happens. The sanitary facilities (showers and hot water) are not in operation at the top and middle of the site. Toilets yes, but you shouldn't be afraid of spider webs. You can only shower downstairs at reception. The showers are very good. You get really hot water.
The reception is staffed by trainees, some of whom are ignorant. The shop and restaurant are not even open in winter.
You have to be back at the square by 11 p.m. otherwise you won't be able to get in by car. Too few lamps. (Stairs to the toilet, paths between the caravans, for example)
But now to the positive part.
Beautiful view of Schnellenberg Castle and the Sauerland mountains. I think also nice hiking trails. Unfortunately there is no view of the Biggesee, but you can't have everything.
But really cheap annual rent and very quiet, at least in winter.
I'm curious to see what it looks like in summer and what the people are like here. So far I can only say positive things about the Sauerlanders. 😄
Update from 12/17/23
Was just alone on the pitch for a week.
Unfortunately, I had to notice that the people who were there didn't seem to be particularly friendly, because when you come in somewhere and empty a chemical toilet, you at least say "Hello" even if you don't speak German. Hello is international and a gesture of friendliness. Or even when I first said “hello”, I was met with a grumpy response.
I hope that this will change in the summer, because I always thought that on a campsite you are one big family. 🫡😉😃
We were there this weekend with our van. There is something on the panoramic meadow that unfortunately hardly exists anymore: stand however you want and where you want. Everything is very relaxed.
I have never been more kindly asked by a place operator to make sure that we don't play the music so loudly in the evenings. Really really nice.
Negative:
You definitely have to take care of the shower technology. The operation is really unnecessarily complicated and requires a long description on the wall. And unfortunately the hot water usually doesn't work either. But you only notice that when you stand in the shower in your Adam's costume.
Otherwise, the place is absolutely recommended! Happy to come back!
